Sir Frederick Grant Banting Successfully isolated insulin and received the Nobel Prize
Sir Frederick Grant Banting was born in Alliston, Ontario and died February 21st, 1941. He was the son of William Thompson Banting and Margaret Grant and later worked at the University of Toronto. He obtained an MB at the University of Toronto in 1916 and an MD in 1922. He was awarded a Nobel Prize for successfully being able to isolate insulin for use. His invention allowed people with not enough insulin production to be able to continue their everyday lives without the worry of high blood sugar levels.
