The Coin Toss Experiment we conducted is the artifact I decided to use for this unit. During this unit, the Coin Toss Experiment helped understand and illustrate a picture into the minds of us students by showing us the random ratios for dominant and recessive traits by representing sides of coins as different variants of alleles. This is truly significant to our understanding because it helped us see how alleles are randomly chosen. This helped make a mental image to remember that the ratios for traits can vary. This can be applied into real life situations if someone decides to get a job in a field in genetics that requires an individual to look at dominant and recessive traits in somebody’s genetics.
