Athlete alert: Is genetic juicing set to replace steroids?
This article is about the “genetic juicing” in athletes and how “genetic juicing” could be turned to when athletes are not at their best. The article then further explains the effects of genetic altering and how coaches and athletes feel that they should use “genetic juicing” on the athletes because the pressure on athletes are to be faster, stronger and the best in the field. In personal opinion, I believe that gene therapy ruins the sportsmanship, and that the skills of the player are not being tested, as the genetic therapy is being tested more. This affects the professionals on the field, as any citizen can be an athlete as long as genetic therapy is involved. Professionals are no longer needed, because they would no longer be tested on their skills, but rather on modified genetics.

First test-tube hamburger ready this fall
The article is about the first hamburger that will be made from cow stem cells and how laboratory-made hamburgers could help minimize environment-based costs of classical food production. In my opinion, it is an innovative idea that the future may decide to use. On the other hand, it’s an engineered food product that does not follow food production ethics and a scientifically made burger does not seem morally correct. The idea of these burgers can allow for easier production for the use of communities and students. For fast food companies, this can allow for more livestock to live and prosper than to murder them for food. This can also lead to expensive production of the burgers, which makes fast food turn away from the idea of test tube burgers. A way to improve this idea for it to be considered by the world is for this idea to be less costly, as spending thousands of dollars for one burger is not what people want to do. Also, a way to mass produce these burgers will allow for better production and more attention will be given to this idea.
